Bridges Community Project is a registered charity, committed to the people and area of the Royal Docks.
Our aim is to work with others to BUILD BRIDGES, and WIDEN HORIZONS, so that we can MOVE from where we are to ALL that we can be.
Bridges was set up in 2003 by Royal Docks Community Church as a way of bringing local people together. The charity is managed by a board of local trustees who are committed to building community in this area and can all be regularly found working and giving time to projects from Britannia Village Hall. The Trustees meet regularly to review the work of the charity, explore new ideas and be creative in supporting residents to make a difference in the area.
Bridges is managed by Sarah Laing. Sarah is very experienced in working within the voluntary sector and brings enthusiasm and commitment to the charity. She is supported by workers Angie Allgood and Simon Winnicot as well as a committed team of local volunteers. The Chair of Trustees is Dave Mann. Dave is a Britannia Village resident and previously Centre manager of Britannia Village Hall. Dave is also Chair of Governors at Britannia Village School and pastor of the Royal Docks Community Church.
We are very pleased to report that as from January 2013 The Tudor Trust has granted us 3 years of funding to run our new Family Plus Project. Britannia Village Primary School have added valuable support and The Family Plus Project will assist disadvantaged families and children, enabling them to increase skills, overcome barriers and play a positive role in the community.
